Abstract
A new dual-band primary feed for reflector antenna is discussed. It is based on a judicious use of a metallic patch or ring inside the launcher. This makes it possible to reduce the length of the launcher. Special care has been taken to optimize isolation between receive and transmit signals. Good radio-frequency performances were observed for both receive and transmit missions. L-band and S-band radiation patterns are presented. The S/L square horn was designed for mobile satellite communications.<>
