Abstract :
In this paper, we propose a novel method to determine the optimal sizing of a grid-connected Microgrid which includes Photovoltaic (PV) system, battery energy storage system (BESS). The problem is viewed as a constrained optimization. In particular, the objectives are to minimize the annual cost of the system (ACS) with zero unmet loads as well as to maximize the usage of the PV system with respect to the system operations, reliability and the state of charge. Herein, the decision variables are PV generation size and the BESS capacity. The simulation results will be carried out to evaluate the proposed methodology.
