Abstract :
The work intends to obtain the model reduction using balanced singular perturbation approximation (BSPA) of any LTI system, which may be utilized for controller reduction as well. The MATLAB based computational difficulties for obtaining balanced realized minimal order model of the system necessary for preservation of DC gain of non-minimal systems have been investigated. The algorithm is illustrated by an example showing MATLAB based actual computational difficulties being faced by the researchers for reduction of non-minimal system, which gives the very strong impression of seeking such problems to solve.
