Abstract :
The purpose of this work is to compare three wind turbine controller synthesis methodologies for the whole operating range of the plant. Wind turbine controllers are designed in order to optimize a trade-off between two main control objectives which are maximization of energy efficiency and alleviation of drive train dynamic loads. The considered control synthesis approach are the linear quadratic Gaussian control approach, the discrete pole placement with sensitivity function shaping method and the inversion of causal ordering graph. Simulations show good performances and robustness of the different controllers.
