Abstract :
A description is given of an effort that attempts to combine artificial intelligence, computer networking and database and management science technologies to aid stock investors in their decision making processes. Data from a multi-database environment, including the investors´ own databases as well as those public databases coming through modern communication networks are retrieved using natural English language. Portfolio analysis and other forecasting techniques are then applied to the data. Thus, a stock investment analyst is able to obtain extremely wide sources of information and assistance with minimal computer knowledge. The system, called Stock Investment Aid, has been implemented using the Hong Kong stock market as an example
