            Abstract :
Summary form only given. The measurement of ultrashort optical pulses at 1.5 /spl mu/m is becoming increasingly important in high-speed optical fibre communication systems. In this paper we demonstrate the use of a 1.3-/spl mu/m InGaAsP laser diode for highly sensitive autocorrelation measurements of 1.5-/spl mu/m picosecond pulses.
