Abstract :
Summary form only given. Many advantages of dispersion-managed soliton systems stem from the energy enhancement, but it has been found that the energy enhancement is significantly reduced when fiber loss is present. Here, we report an arrangement of amplifiers in a dispersion-managed soliton system that can achieve remarkable improvement of energy enhancement, leading to a decrease of the timing jitter. We also find that the energy enhancement increases with increasing fiber loss.
