  • Abstract
This article proposes a new motion-adaptive de-interlacing algorithm based on edge-dependent interpolation. By making full use of the correlation between temporal and spatial information and adopting the new de-interlacing algorithm, the motion components are extracted from still video image in video sequence. The missing pixels in motion part are interpolated by running the edge-dependent algorithm. In contrast, the missing pixels in the static part are interpolated by running the median filtering algorithm instead to improve the video resolution. The algorithm simulation results show that the improvement can be found in both subject visual effect and image Peak Signal Noise Ration (PSNR).
