Abstract :
In this paper, we report to the best of our knowledge the first demonstration of a continuous wave (CW) Pr3+:LuAlO3. The Pr3+:LuAlO3 laser shows a maximum CW output power of 6.7 mW for 72 mW of absorbed blue pump power and a slope efficiency of 14% in case of an outcoupling mirror. Laser oscillation could be observed at a wavelength of 722.5 nm in the deep red part of the visible spectrum.
