  • Abstract
Tools and technology developed for the design and mass-production of GaAs MMIC active functions were applied to broadband passive filter applications. Experimental results are in good agreement with theoretical predictions and process variations can easily be compensated for, when high reproducibility is required. Lower intrinsic performance of passive GaAs MMIC technology, compared to hybrid solutions, is overcome by overall performance. Integration of compact filters will lead to the lowest test and assembly cost in the near future
