Abstract :
Push-to-talk over Cellular (PoC) is considered as one of the most important services in Next Generation Networks (NGN). Push-To-Talk (PTT) is the core service operation for PoC. This paper analyzes the service requirements for PTT and find it can be modeled as the problem of Delay and delay Variation Bounded Multicasting Network (DVBMN). We designed an algorithm named Faster CHAINS (FCHAINS) for DVBMN, and based on it a new more scalable user plane architecture for PoC is proposed. Compared with the PoC´s user plane architecture standardized by Open Mobile Alliance (OMA), the new user plane architecture is more scalable and has better end-to-end delay performance for PTT service.
