Abstract
This paper focuses on the structure and properties of urban traffic networks. A new distinguished node model for network topology and property analysis is introduced, which is shown that integrates the network topology and control mechanism into a consistent framework. The mathematical definition of the model is introduced, followed by discussion of its static and dynamic properties. A case study on a real network demonstrates effectiveness of the proposed approach.
