Abstract
Research and development on future Personal Communication Systems is gathering momentum. Various national and international collaborative programmes have been initiated over the recent years. The range 1.5 to 2.7 GHz has, at least in Europe, been identified as the spectrum which should be studied for its suitability for Personal Communications. The paper describes some of the propagation work in progress at BTRL. Measurements were carried out at 1.741 GHz around Ipswich simulating medium to large outdoor cells, using a relatively high transmitter
