Abstract :
The article intends to introduce the authors´ experimental study on adsorption behaviour of chitosan solution on silica by reflectometry. Effect of pH on adsorption has been studied. The adsorbed amount ¿ was 0.80, 0.35 mg·m-2 at pH6.8 and 6.0, respectively. Zeta potential measurements and dynamic light scattering have been measured in the experiment. The mechanism of the adsorption process are likely to be the electrostatic attraction and entropic origin which is typical for adsorption of strongly charged polyelectrolytes onto oppositely charged surfaces.
