Abstract
Some of the more important issues in CEM (computational electromagnetics) are examined, focusing on the interplay of analysis and computation. EM codes are considered from both the developer´s and user´s perspectives, and code design for user-friendliness is discussed. It is concluded that CEM will become more accurate and efficient for all users by providing a single interface and problem-description language giving access to a variety of different codes, built-in input-data checking and error trapping, user-selectable optional validation checks, graphical and interactive output displays, and a convenient way to compare the results of different models.<>
