  • Abstract
In ultra-wideband (UWB) indoor dense multipath environments, the traditional coherent Rake receiver must require channel estimation information to perform diversity receiver: Furthermore, in order to collect enough signal energy from dense multipath components, the number of Rake fingers must increase linearly. Therefore, the receiver´s structure could be somewhat complex and then make against its being available in practice. In this paper: we apply an adaptive MMSE receiver scheme based on NLMS algorithm to the DS-UWB indoor communications and examine its BER performance on the newly proposed and realistic UWB indoor channel model, namely IEEE 802.15.3a. Simulation results show that, nearly without loss of BER performance compared with the coherent Rake receiver: the scheme applied in this paper possesses the virtue of simple structure and easiness of implementation.
