Abstract :
The authors consider the role of the independent local radio network in the provision of a radio data system (RDS). They discuss radio teletext and other auxiliary transmissions, and consider the EBU RDS system. The encoder specification is outlined, and RDS installation at transmitter sights is described. Testing the installation and encoders is considered, and the RDS travel service is discussed
