Abstract
The measurement of pulsed power flow from a Marx generator into a vacuum diode load and the subsequent measurement of the radiated microwave and millimetre-wave pulsed power, has needed the use of some existing and new diagnostic techniques. The research programme has been concerned with the design, construction, operation and assessment of a series of pulsed cold-cathode electron cyclotron masers. The author discusses the diagnostic techniques for frequency, power, and mode type
