Abstract :
Sets of sequences with complementary principle are known because of their ability to achieve excellent correlation properties. Special types of MC DS-CDMA systems, employing such a class of sequences, outperform other systems in A WGN or Rician channels with a strong LOS path. However, in a frequency selective fading channel, the performance of these systems is identical to that of multicarrier CDMA employing a single spreading sequence per user. In order to quantify and evaluate the influence of the frequency selective fading on the correlation properties of the classes of sequences with complementary principle and thus on the whole system, average mean-square correlation measures for such classes of sequences are introduced. Based on these measures, the correlation properties of two classes of sequences with Complementary principle are investigated and compared in this paper.
