Abstract
An optimal sequence estimation algorithm has been proposed. Both systems with and without error correction code have been analyzed. Exploiting the proposed optimal detection algorithm, there is 1.2 dB SNR gain has been achieved over coherent detection (at BER 10-2) when the system without error correct code has been considered. For systems with and without error correction code, the proposed algorithm reduces the error floor caused by the divergence of the instantaneous channel impulse response away from the initial channel impulse response during the information frame.
