Abstract :
A ray-tracing model was used to investigate the spectral efficiency of multiple input, multiple output (MIMO) antenna array systems in a rectangular space representing a typical short-range indoor environment. Results are presented from simulations in which different configurations of arrays and orientations were done with a view to determining some broad guidelines for deploying systems in environments in which the signal components are highly correlated. The effect of the line-of-sight (LOS) component on capacity in terms of power delivery to the receiver is taken into account.
