Abstract
This paper reports on measurement of concentration dependent refractive index of dark-adapted wild-type bacteriorhodopsin (bR) (dissolved in TRIS) with a refined refractometry method. The refractive index of pure is deducted and a Sellmeier-type dispersion equation is also presented. The data set, provided for the entire visible and near infrared region, would be of high interest of the community dealing with biophotonical applications of bacteriorhodopsin.
