Abstract
Class A multiplexing was designed to tackle some of the problems of vehicle wiring. The size, weight and handling difficulties of car harnesses are increasing and the variety of features fitted to modern vehicle means large numbers of harness variants. The author discusses the use of slot assignment multiplexing, describing its features. The benefits of electronic control such as diagnostics, flexibility, reliability, and self test are available on such a system
