Abstract :
An adaptive technique for acquisition of pseudonoise (PN) sequences with the variable thresholds required for PN detecting chips is proposed. The Robbins-Monroe stochastic approximation procedure is applied to evaluate the adaptive thresholds under the constraint of fixed signal power. It is demonstrated that the proposed scheme achieves the theoretical lower bound derived on PN acquisition time
