Abstract :
A communication protocol, namely SOAP-based Communication Protocol for Home Network (SCPHN), is proposed for networking and control in home network. The process of service registration of Jini is employed, and three roles of user client, service client and control center are adopted. The UPnP framework is toke, with the service discover process improved by adding a registration center between control points and devices. The control of network appliances is realized by the remote invocation of SOAP. Service eventing can be done by sending event notification. With SCPHN, the networking and control of network appliances can be realized in a zero- configuration way.
