Abstract :
MARRTS (multi access rural radio telephone system) extends telephone service to rural areas where conventional physical lines are impossible or impractical to install. The system provides service for up to a maximum of 16 subscribers on up to four bearer channels. The bearer channels are realized using single channel full duplex VHF transceivers and the channels are assigned to subscribers on a demand basis. For low to moderate traffic the grade of service provided by the system is very good and the user is not aware of its multi-access nature
