Abstract :
A smart UAV requires the collision avoidance capability to automatically sense and avoid the stationary obstacles and/or nonstationary moving objects along the flight path in the relatively low-altitude flying and rapidly maneuvering environment. In this paper, using the millimeter wave radar system parameters designed for the collision avoidance, the two collision avoidance problems are updated through performance simulation: one is the obstacle awareness performance, which is analyzed by the probability of detecting the obstacles which are statistically different RCS model, and the other is the collision avoidance performance, which is evaluated by the performance of the collision avoidance mode based on the given range, range-rate and bearing information in the flight scenarios.
