Abstract :
Summary form only given. Summary form only given. Optical application-specific integrated circuits (OASICs) are integrated circuits containing high-performance optical components on one or more chips with interconnections to fiber pigtails. This paper will describe how the planar waveguide technology platform is being used to tailor circuits for a variety of WDM optical networking applications. Processes for glass waveguide deposition and chip packaging will be summarized.
