Abstract :
A description is given of the evolution of a PBX. The background in which the first product was launched, the market situation at that time the need for such a product are discussed. The system, features, enhancements in terms of capacity and user features are described. The transfer of this technology to the licencees, the process and its effect on the market are also presented. Finally the ongoing and envisaged applications of the system along with the need and plans for future development of this product family are outlined
