Abstract :
Telemedicine holds many promises to improve access to specialty care while decreasing costs and increasing the quality of patient care. There is no published scientific study analyzing the outcomes of patients randomized to a teleconsultation or the traditional in-person specialty consultation. This paper describes the orthopaedic telemedicine involvement in the outpatient consultation setting. We discuss the background and process through which the telemedicine project is developed
