Operational aspects of integrated road tunnel management

An operations and maintenance strategy relating to the North Wales A55 Tunnels and Road Network was developed by Gwynedd County Council, acting as the Agent Authority for the Welsh Office. The authors outline the practical methods of implementation of the agreed strategy with due consideration of the objectives of providing a safe environment for the road user and minimising the disruption to traffic usually encountered whilst maintaining substantial engineering and civil assets.
