Abstract :
In this paper, the design and implementation of a measurement system of response time for optical processor is presented. The system is used to measure the speed of ternary optical computer (TOC). The hardware of this system adopts photoelectric sensor, ADC and embedded systems; and the software adopts a cycle queue of samples, a data analysis program and a control program. The device of the design will be in small size and simple driving circuit. The sampling operation of one measuring is started by the signal sent out from optical components, and is stopped by itself when the measured light intensity achieves the threshold. So the sampling time is the response time of optical components. The experiment shows that the results are reliable and the measurement system is stable.
