Abstract :
The basic points in the preparation of theoretical h´F curves (overlays) for the low latitude station at Delhi and the necessity of renaming them theoretical ionograms are summarized. Significant results regarding q0, β0, H0, T0, and T∞ obtained as a result of analyzing the Delhi ionograms (C4-recorder) around F1-maximum are discussed. The theoretical ionograms are discussed and compared with results obtained using other techniques. It is concluded that these theoretical ionograms can be equated with the actual ionograms of ionospheric recorders and can be prepared for any station whose propagation constants are known or for any location where the installation of a ionospheric recorder is difficult
