Time generation and distribution system for a military national synchronization

Present and forthcoming military systems (multi-tracking radar, frequency hopping radio, etc.) require a very precise time management. To cater for this need, the French Air Force has decided to supply the operational applications for the whole country with a homogeneous time generation and distribution system using the GPS as the primary time source. Due to the interoperability issue, it is necessary to use the UTC time scale and other international standards in accordance with other nations´ choice (NATO especially)
