Abstract :
A discussion is given on the adoption of systems prototyping and the author concentrates on the various ways in which this may affect the management and the people associated with systems development. One widely accepted prerequisite for successful prototyping is that it requires a fundamental change of attitudes for developers, users and managers alike. Adopting a prototyping approach to systems development should have a significant effect on the role played by management. The alteration in role and responsibilities is examined. Particular attention is given to the management of the prototyper, as well as to the issues to be considered when choosing who should play this crucial part
