Abstract :
In this paper, we present a control system for serial twin linear slider systems with machine stand vibration. A linear slider system in a machining center has used several linear motors to improve its speed response recently. However, when you move a linear motor quickly, a large reaction force to a machine stand is induced, and then a vibration phenomenon occurs in the machine stand. The vibration greatly influences the accuracy of position control in the linear slider system. Moreover, in a serial twin linear slider system, which has two movers, the problem becomes more complicated because two reaction forces interfere mutually. To solve the problem, we make a dynamic model of a serial twin linear slider system with machine stand vibration. Then, we design a control system based on the dynamic model. The control system consists of a 2DOF controller, a decoupling controller and a compensation input for machine stand vibration control. The effectiveness of the control system was verified by experiments.
