Abstract
In this paper, a novel method for designing Buck chopper controller based on adaptive backstepping is presented. This method is based on accurate modeling of converter considering effect of circuit parasitic elements, better modeling of semiconductor switches and assuming equivalent series resistance of inductor. Also, during controller design process, all the parameters existing in model assumed to be uncertain and an appropriate estimation of these parameters is done by choosing a suitable Lyapunov function. It should be mentioned that in all of the design equations, input voltage of the converter assumed to be time-variant. Simulation results clearly show that designed controller has zero steady-state error and fast dynamic response. More over it can stabilize the converter during wide variation of load resistance and input voltage through inductor saturation.
