Abstract :
Experimental results of the millimeter-wave remote sensing of meteorological objects are presented. The main goal of the experiments was the determination of the statistical characteristics of radio waves reflected from different meteorological objects. Transformations of different polarization parameters of the reflected electromagnetic wave (EMW) have been studied with emphasis on the orientation angle of the EMW polarization plane and its elliptical angle. The linearly polarized EMW when reflected from hydrometeors stored its linearity in terms of polarization. Values of the orientation angle of the EMW polarization plane were found to change from 20 degrees to 30 degrees in relation to their initial values determined in fog.<>
