On the sinergy between space and ground developments of printed antennas

The explained set of requirements and constraints, for the use of microstrip patches led to define a special technology for printed arrays in space environment, based on the use of multilayer structures composed by low density foams and very thin printed boards assembled with spatially qualified adhesives; these ones must be reduced to a minimum, because of their influence on the RF losses.
