Abstract :
Privatisation of the electricity supply industry in the UK has brought radical influences to bear on the transmission network. The industry is under pressure to improve performance efficiency with respect to customers while maintaining competitive tariffs and also to generate high profit margins to provide dividends to shareholders and funds for investment in the business. There is therefore a need to continue research and development and collaboration between regional electricity companies in the UK
