Abstract :
The paper considers the use of computer modelling in EMC applications. It addresses the question `Why use computer modelling?´ and considers the features required of a useful model with reference to well known numerical techniques. The discussion is confined to numerical techniques which are applicable to a wider range of problems than is possible with analytical methods and which provide more quantitative results than knowledge based methods
