Title :
Extraction of CAD data for EMC modelling

Abstract :
Recent growth in the computational power available at affordable cost has made it practical to carry out significant electromagnetic field analyses by numerical methods. Many other technical areas are feeling the same effect. Fatigue analysis in the automotive industry has been code-of-practice based for many years, but finite element analysis is being used for an increasing minority of components. Solidification analysis of castings has traditionally been based on the Wlodawa modulus back-of-envelope calculations, but finite difference methods are now beginning to be used, even in not-so-large foundries. Structural analysis passed this threshold a decade or so ago, and it may be useful to observe experience in that field
