Abstract :
The paper focuses on a computationally efficient and numerically robust, on-line processing technique to calculate the residue signal without explicit calculation of the weights. Without loss of generality, the proposed technique is presented in the context of a specific application, namely the signal processing for an airborne early warning (AEW) radar. It presents the main signal processing requirement for AEW radar. Then the proposed processing scheme-a multidimensional lattice filter-is introduced and its application to the space-time processor for the purposes of clutter and narrowband jammer cancellation is outlined. To evaluate the corresponding performance, a Monte Carlo simulation study was carried out using mathematical models to simulate the clutter, jammers and targets. Some of the simulation results are described
