Abstract

Fluent is attempting to develop standards-based technologies and products which seamlessly integrate digital video into networked desktop computing environments. Fluent is designing a comprehensive video system architecture that provides: the capability to capture, store, distribute, interact with, and present video information within a networked desktop computing environment; an integrated platform for handling multiple international and industry video compression standards; an intelligent channel architecture capable of managing, processing, and displaying concurrent video streams; and a complete solution consisting of system, system software, and development tools allowing application development.<>
