Abstract
Summary form only given. Dispersion slope of the transmission fiber is becoming a major constraint in large-capacity long-haul lightwave transmission systems where the WDM signal-bandwidth is large or the channel bit rate is extremely high. Possible technologies to overcome this issue are discussed.
