Abstract
This paper presents a state-of-the-art approach to a classic sonar signal processing problem. First a theoretical foundation for Source Oriented Beam Forming (SOBF) is introduced. A distributed processing element is then introduced and discussed which is offered as one solution to the platform implementation of high-powered signal processing such as SOBF. While many of the details of the implementation are beyond the scope or intent of this paper they may be found in the references.
