Abstract :
This paper studies the multiclass dynamic traffic assignment problem. A multiple user-classes dynamic user optimal traffic assignment model is proposed. The phenomenon of overtaking existing in traffic network is considered. The distinction between user-classes is typically based on vehicle travel speed. According to it, vehicles are classified into different classes. Asymmetric interactions between the user-classes sharing the same road infrastructure are taken into account. A set of multiple user-classes link travel time functions are proposed. For the same class user, the first-in-first-out principle holds. A case study illustrates the model.
