Abstract
The paper describes an ideal of space channel pattern with which several users can share traditional channel multi accesses (FDMA, TDMA or CDMA) simultaneously. This pattern can be synthesized by an antenna array where the coupling between elements is considered. The paper also proposed an optimal dynamic channel assignment algorithm for smart antennas. It can deal with the Spatial Division Multi Access (SDMA) combined with traditional channel multi accesses simultaneously to enlarge the capacity of communication systems. This algorithm has several merits such as less computer time, largest capacity and avoidance of co-channel interference. Several simulation results are presented in the paper
