            Abstract : 
We developed a compact 1.3-μm optical amplifier module using AlGaInAs MQW-SOA operated at 45°C. The module exhibited very low electric power consumption of 0.84W over wide temperature range (0-75°C) and excellent performance as pre-amplifiers in 40 or 100 Gb/s systems.
