  • Abstract
    With the development of satellite technology, it is feasible to take some photos of the satellites in flight from the space angle. Edge detection is the base of many image processing technologies such as region-of-interest (ROI) compression. Because of the particularity like noisy and complicated background, detecting the edge of space images is different to detect the edge of normal photo. In this paper, several filters and edge detecting operators are applied combinedly in the experimentations to validate the performances. After the study and experiments, the assembly with median filter and Canny operator is introduced to detect the edge of space image because it is more mature, more steady, less computational quantity and easier to be implemented in hardware.
